A Game Theory Approach for Estimating Reliability of Crowdsourced Relevance Assessments

چکیده

In this article, we propose an approach to improve quality in crowdsourcing (CS) tasks using Task Completion Time (TCT) as a source of information about the reliability workers game-theoretical competitive scenario. Our is based on hypothesis that some are more risk-inclined and tend gamble with their use time when put compete other workers. This supported by our previous simulation study. We test 35 topics from experiments TREC-8 collection being assessed relevant or non-relevant crowdsourced both (referred “Game”) non-competitive “Base”) find competition changes distributions TCT, making them sensitive (i.e., wrong right) outcome non-relevant) assessments. also optimal function TCT weights weighted majority voting scheme. From probabilistic considerations, derive theoretical upper bound for performance cohorts 2, 3, 4, 5 workers, which criterion evaluate weighting achieves remarkable performance, significantly closing gap between accuracy obtained relevance judgements bound. Since takes advantage available quantity any CS tasks, believe it cost-effective and, therefore, can be applied assurance micro-tasks.

Changes in a Service Oriented Enterprise: A Game Theory Approach

Service Oriented Enterprises (SOEs) are subject to constant change and variation. In this paper, the changes are considered from an economic perspective based on service culture notion. Once a change is implemented, the costs of some member services may increase, whereas the costs of some other services may reduce. We construct a game theoretic model trying to capture the possible conflicting i...

A game theory approach for determining optimum strategy of claim resolution in construction projects

Claim is a big challenge for the contractors and the owners in construction projects. Claims are considered to be one of the most disruptive events of a project. A suitable claim resolution strategy can prevent the damages to the project and the involved parties. In this research, a mathematical model using game theory is presented to find the optimum strategy for resolving cost-related claims ...

An Active Learning Approach for Jointly Estimating Worker Performance and Annotation Reliability with Crowdsourced Data

Crowdsourcing platforms offer a practical solution to the problem of affordably annotating large datasets for training supervised classifiers. Unfortunately, poor worker performance frequently threatens to compromise annotation reliability, and requesting multiple labels for every instance can lead to large cost increases without guaranteeing good results. Minimizing the required training sampl...

Cooperative aggregate production planning: a game theory approach

Production costs in general, and workforce and inventory costs in particular, constitute a large fraction of the operating costs of many manufacturing plants. We introduce cooperative aggregate production planning as a way to decrease these costs. That is, when production planning of two or more facilities (plants) is integrated, they can interchange workforce and products inventory; thus, thei...

Multi Responses Optimization Through Game Theory Approach

In this paper, a new approach based on game theory has been proposed to multi responses problem optimization. Game theory is a useful tool for decision making in the conflict of interests between intelligent players in order to select the best joint strategy for them through selecting the best joint desirability. Present research uses the game theory approach via definition of each response as ...
